Our last night in Cadiz we invited all the homestay families out for dinner at a restuarant called La Catedral. It was a very special evening filled with laughter and tears.

As we arrived to Sevilla, we were welcomed by a musical group called Tunas that play throughout the streets of Sevilla.

We climbed 35 ramps to get the top of this tower, la giralda, in the
cathedral. I must say it was well worth the hike.

We got some hands-on experience with the Arabic culture at a private dance clase taught by Sonia. We had a blast and even learned a choreographed dance.

On friday we checked one of the famous local singers, Ana Salazar, at Castillo Santa Catalina. It was a pleasant blend of flamenco and jazz.

After becoming experts in making salmorejo, Ana took us to the Cathedral and explained in detail the history and even took us below sea level where there is a crypt with many famous people barried from Cadiz.

A friend of David´s from Sevilla, Ana, came to our class to teach us about Spanish cuisine. She taught us how to make salmorejo which a famous dish here in Andalusia. I must say that it was quite tasty.

We spent some time strolling through el parque del retiro, Madrid´s largest park. It was a beautiful day and we all took amazing pictures.

After seeing Spain´s most famous musuem, El Prado, we sat down for a bit and played some games in Spanish. We all had a good laugh and learned some new vocab.

Sunday morning we made it out early to beat the hot sun and the crowds at one of Madrid´s amazing musuems, Reina Sofia. The students were amazed seeing Picasso´s most famous painting, Guernica, in person and some of Gali´s best work.

On Saturday we headed north to the enchanting city of Toledo. Our sweet bus driver Ana took us to the top of the hill for some great photos of the whole city. We visited the Cathedral, a sword factory and had lunch at a delightful restuarant.
